Joe Collins
Dr Joe Collins MVB PhD CBiol CSci FRSB MRCVS CertEP CertVR Chief Veterinary Advisor, The Donkey Sanctuary Joe graduated as a veterinary surgeon from University College Dublin in 1987. Following seven years in private veterinary practice in England he spend three years at Cambridge University Veterinary School as an equine clinical resident. Thereafter he returned to private equine practice in the UK and Ireland before completing a PhD titled ‘Equine Health and Welfare in Ireland’ and working in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry. Joe’s first undertaking for The Donkey Sanctuary (TDS) was to conduct a research project regarding the role of donkeys in Ireland. He is currently Vice-President of Veterinary Ireland and an independent expert on the EU Platform on Animal Welfare where he chairs the Equine Sub-group. Joe has travelled extensively on behalf of TDS and other organisations to: • Teach and work at the Animal Care Egypt equine hospital in Luxor. • Conduct workshops in equine welfare in southern Mexico and northern India. • Present on working equid topics in S. Korea, India, S. Africa, Kenya, China, Spain, the UK. • Visit donkey farms and ejiao producers in China.

Annete Graf
BVetMed, Swedish specialist in equine medicine and surgery. Graduated at Royal Veterinary College, London UK in 1995. Started as new graduate at House & Jackson Equine Practice in Essex before returning to Sweden 1999. During 25 years of being in equine practice I have spent most time at Hallands Djursjukhus Equine department as a senior chief clinician with the exception for a couple of years where I was running my own practice in north of Sweden. My clinical work has included emergency- and out of hours as well as medical work-up and surgery. My main area of interest has been orthopaedic cases (ie loss of performance, lameness investigations) and ultrasound diagnostic imaging. I passed the Swedish Specialist in Equine Medicine & Surgery examination in 2003. Apart from clinical work I have been mentoring and supporting younger colleagues, been involved in projects of Swedish Veterinary Association (Guidelines for animal abuse in equine practice, English translation of PPE- protocol, CPD for vets etc). During several years I was the secretary and board member of Hästsektionen (Swedish Equine Veterinary Association. In October 2021 I was elected as board member of FEEVA and Chair of FEEVAs Equine Welfare Working Group I have also been involved in organizing and lecturing at CPD-courses and congresses for vets and nurses. Since January 2021 I am working as an equine specialist consultant at Agria Pet Insurance.

Caterina Termine
Dr Caterina Termine BSc(Hons) BVSc CertAVP MRCVS FEI Senior Veterinary Advisor Dr. Termine joined the FEI in 2014 and is involved with a wide range of veterinary technical matters, including the production and delivery of Clean Sport education and information to the equestrian community. She also had a substantial role in managing the EHV-1 outbreak in Valencia during 2021. Before her current role, Caterina worked in equine practice and equine biosecurity and infectious diseases research at the Animal Health Trust in the United Kingdom. She was also the veterinary advisor for the Riding for the Disabled Association (UK), an FEI Veterinary Delegate at various Jumping and Eventing competitions, and a Testing Veterinarian for her National Federation.

Andrew Waller BSc PhD
Chief Scientific Officer Intervacc AB, Stockholm, Sweden Andrew Waller studied the evolution, transmission and prevention of Streptococcus equi and Streptococcus zooepidemicus for over 17 years in his role as Head of Bacteriology at the Animal Health Trust. He collaborates with world-leading researchers in over 20 countries around the world, publishing over 80 peer-reviewed papers on streptococcal infections of animals and utilising these research findings to develop novel diagnostic tests and vaccines with which to improve animal health. Andrew joined Intervacc AB in 2020 where he continues to work towards improving the health of animals.

Bert Damiaans
Bert Damiaans graduated in 2012 from the faculty of veterinary medicine of Ghent University. After gaining practical experience in France and Belgium, he returned to the university to join the Epidemiology unit in 2015 to write his PhD on biosecurity implementation. Following a post-doctoral position, he now joined the ranks of Dechra as a Technical and product manager.

Roma Buczkowska
Roma Buczkowska uzyskał tytuł lekarza weterynarii w Szkole Głównej Gospodarstwa Wiejskiego w Warszawie. Po zakończeniu studiów rozpoczęła pracę jako asystent naukowo-dydaktyczny w Katedrze Chorób Dużych Zwierząt z Kliniką W Zakładzie Chirurgii Dużych Zwierząt oraz w prywatnym gabinecie weterynaryjnym zajmującym się leczeniem koni. W tym okresie zdobyła doświadczenie kliniczne podczas pracy z pacjentami, ale także umiejętności dydaktyczne oraz naukowe. W 2021 roku związała się zawodowo z firmą farmaceutyczną wytwarzającą produkty lecznicze dla zwierząt w charakterze Konsultanta Naukowego. Obecnie pracuje w LIVISTO na stanowisku SPECJALISTY DS. MARKETINGU I PRODUKTÓW. Roma Buczkowska has a Medical Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. At the beginning of her career, she gained experience in vet practice in the Department of Large Animal Diseases and Clinic as a research and didactic worker and clinician at the Equine Clinic. Later, she worked as a scientific consultant for a veterinary pharmaceutical company. Currently, she works at LIVISTO as a MARKETING AND PRODUCT SPECIALIST.

Sylwester Zając
dr n. wet. Sylwester Zając - specjalista rozrodu koni - Absolwent Wydziału Medycyny Weterynaryjnej w Warszawie od 1995 r. W 1999 roku obronił doktorat na Wydziale Medycyny Weterynaryjnej w Warszawie. W 2004 roku uzyskał specjalizację z zakresu Rozrodu Zwierząt. Do 2012 roku adiunkt w Zakładzie Rozrodu Zwierząt Wydziału Medycyny Weterynaryjnej SGGW w Warszawie. Wieloletni pracownik kliniki koni przy SGGW w Warszawie, nauczyciel akademicki obdarzony dużym talentem dydaktycznym, ale przede wszystkim lekarz praktykujący zajmującym się z pasją rozrodem koni. Obecnie prowadzi przychodnię weterynaryjną małych zwierząt, klinikę rozrodu koni EQUIBIOTECH, bank nasienia czołowych ogierów skokowych GFE Polska i France Etalons oraz organizuje i prowadzi warsztaty specjalistyczne dla lekarzy weterynarii. Jest założycielem i członkiem pierwszego w Polsce zespołu zajmującego się embriotransferem u koni.

Marzena Paszkowska
- ekspert ds. diagnostyki laboratoryjnej w Laboratorium Vetlab. Absolwentka Uniwersytetu Przyrodniczego we Wrocławiu. Doświadczenie kliniczne zbierała przede wszystkim w Niemczech - m.in. w trakcie rocznego pobytu na Uniwersytecie w Monachium, stażu w klinice dla koni Wolfesing, praktyk oraz dwóch lat pracy w klinice dla koni w Speikern. W latach 2016-2018 pracowała na stanowisku asystenta w Zakładzie Patofizjologii na Uniwersytecie Przyrodniczym we Wrocławiu, zajmując się badaniami nad funkcją płytek krwi u koni oraz dydaktyką. Od 2017 roku związana z laboratorium Vetlab, w którym odpowiada m.in. za przygotowanie oferty, opracowanie standardów wykonania oraz pomoc w doborze i interpretacji wyników badań laboratoryjnych dla koni.

Ludwig Svennerstal
The talented young Swede Ludwig Svennerstål confirmed at the London Olympics 2012 that he meant business, when he as the youngest rider at the Games, at 21 years old, qualified to compete in the individual finals with his Hanoverian gelding Shamwari. In 2013 Ludwig and the Swedish team took a historic team silver at the European Championships on home turf in Malmö.

Nathan Slovis
Dr. Nathan Slovis is the Director of the McGee Medical and Critical Care Center at the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute located in Lexington, Kentucky. He is a native of Annapolis, Maryland. He received his Bachelor of Science from Radford University, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University, interned at Arizona Equine Center and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Slovis has published over 60 manuscripts in both national and international peer reviewed veterinary journals. He is the Editor of both the Atlas of Equine Endoscopy and The Atlas of Diseases/Disorders of the Foal both distributed by Elsevier. He implemented the current Infectious Disease and Equine Emergency Response Programs at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute and holds the position of Infectious Disease Officer He is also a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist for humans and animals.
